“Forgetting Sarah Marshall” recently celebrated its 15th anniversary, so Cracked.com put together a list of 15 fun facts about it.
Here are some highlights:
1. Jason Segel getting dumped while naked ACTUALLY HAPPENED. He even claims the real breakup was even MORE awkward than the one in the movie.
2. Jason’s full-frontal nudity made his mother cry. After she saw it, she wrote an email to family warning them about it, but added that it was, quote, “not gratuitous and is essential to the plot.”
3. The part of rock star Aldous Snow was written for Charlie Hunnam . . . but he turned it down because he was more attracted to darker material at the time.
4. Jason really wanted to make a “Dracula” puppet musical. He was actually working on it during a “slow period” in his life when he was, quote, “smoking a lot of pot.”
5. The movie’s ad campaign upset some REAL Sarah Marshalls. Mostly due to billboards that said things like, “You suck Sarah Marshall,” and “You do look fat in those jeans Sarah Marshall.”
6. Kristen Bell found out that “Veronica Mars” was canceled one day before she had to film a scene where Sarah finds out HER series is canceled. Kristen said she was able to, quote, “draw on a lot of personal feelings for that scene.”
