A man who worked at Burger King for nearly 30 years without taking a single sick day was rewarded by the company … with a bag of candy. Yep, Kevin Ford has been working at a Burger King inside Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas for 27 years. In that time he has never called in sick or taken any unexpected time off. The reward for his hard work? A coffee cup, a movie ticket, some candy, and a few other items in a goodie bag. Ford, who always sees the positive in things, was happy with his gift. “I was happy to get this because I know not everyone gets something,” he said.
Turns out other people were not quite as appreciative of the measly gesture. After Ford showed off the goody bag on TikTok, it went viral – and people responded by saying he deserved much more. That prompted his daughter, Seryna, to start a GoFundMe for her dad – hoping they would raise enough so he could visit his grandkids in Texas. The goal started at $200 … and has now reached more than $430,000. Ford is still working at Burger King – but he now has money for his retirement and to help pay for his grandkids’ college. And he definitely can afford to take some well-deserved time off of work.
