A 20-year-old Northern Ireland man named Declan McFerran has set a new Guinness World Record . . . by assembling a Mr. Potato Head toy in just 5.15 seconds.
That includes 10 pieces: The hat, pants, eyes, nose, moustache, mouth, both ears, and both arms. (Here’s video.)
Declan says he hadn’t owned a Mr. Potato Head since he was a kid, but he randomly decided to go after the record. It’s unclear how much time he put into it overall . . . but the day he broke the record, he spent FOUR STRAIGHT HOURS working at it before he was successful.
There was a previous record on the books. That was 5.43 seconds . . . and it was set just two years ago by someone in Malaysia named Lim Kai Yi.
