Following a Forbes report in July which claimed that Bruce Springsteen had an estimated fortune of around $1.1 billion, the Boss denied those figures in a new interview with The Telegraph. “I’m not a billionaire. I wish I was, but they got that real wrong,” says the 75-year-old music legend. Springsteen neglected to share a more accurate assessment of his net worth, but he did admit that those numbers are likely off because he’s spent “too much money on superfluous things.” In their reporting, Forbes cited Springsteen’s 2021 sale of his music catalog to Sony for an estimated $500-$550 million as one of the main sources of his wealth. At the time, it was the largest deal ever for an individual body of work. Springsteen’s relentless touring, his hugely successful run of Broadway shows, as well as his recent documentary deals all amount to what is no doubt an impressive net worth for the musician, even if it is less than $1 billion.
