Area Restaurants Welcome Phase 4 of Recovery

Area restaurant operators and other businesses are pleased to be moving into Phase 4 of the state’s COVID-19 recovery plan. Agron Selimi owns Gilbert Street Caf in Danville. He is glad they will be able to finally serve people inside at that new business….

{”We opened-up about three weeks ago for the outdoor dining – carry-out. A lot of support from the community, (and) we’ve been doing really well,” said Selimi. ”But we’re excited to be able to put people on the inside now. There’s a lot of people that don’t want to go out and eat outside. But then also there’s been a lot of people tell us we hope you keep the outside dining in the years to come because they’ve really enjoyed it.”}

So what does the Gilbert Street Caf plan to do with its outside dining?…

{”We’re going to keep it for as long as we can. I don’t know exactly what the city – what the regulations are going to be. Because this was something that was kind of allowed because we couldn’t do the inside dining,” said Sedlimi. ”So once we get to fully do inside dining – which that might be a long way off — I don’t know exactly what they’ll let us do. But we’re going to try to keep some form of outside dining, I think in the future as well.”}

Selimi describes the business as a typical family style restaurant. He says hours may be extended now that they can do some inside dining.

There is another new restaurant coming to Danville on Monday, June 29th, 2020. ELa’s Eatery is also a family-style restaurant which will open in the former Wendy’s building along East Voorhees Street. Owner Lindi Adili is excited to finally be opening the doors. Adili has more than a decade of experience in the restaurant business. His family owns the Rich’s restaurants in Danville, Tilton and Ogden.

In addition to allowing limited inside dining at restaurants, Phase 4 also allowed parks and other recreational facilities to re-open.
