Coronavirus (COVID-19) Cancellations in Central Illinois

The Sangamon County Department of Public Health is limiting the number of people at events. This will begin Friday, March 13th at midnight, and continue for 30 days. Indoor events are limited to 250 people or less and outdoor events are limited to 500 people or less.

EVENTS

  • Blarney Bash for St. Patrick School 3/13: POSTPONED
  • Springfield St. Patrick’s Day Parade 3/14: POSTPONED.
  • Jacksonville St. Patrick’s Day Parade 3/14: CANCELED
  • Peoria Civic Center: Baby Shark Live, Foreigner, Blue Man Group and Aaron Lewis POSTPONED
  • Josh Turner at UIS PAC on 3/13: POSTPONED.
  • Broseph at Boondocks 3/14: CANCELED. 
  • The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum will CLOSE TO THE PUBLIC as of Friday, March 13.
    • Public events planned at the ALPLM through April 10 are CANCELED and additional events may be canceled as circumstances warrant.

SCHOOLS

SPORTS

  • The Illinois High School Association is CANCELING the remainder of the boys basketball season (including the state tournament). Also canceled are scholastic bowl, drama & group interpretation, music, debate, and journalism.
  • Illinois Elementary School Association Volleyball State Series games have been SUSPENDED

CHURCHES

  • West Side Christian Church: ONLINE ONLY WORSHIP
  • Cherry Hills Church: Cancelling all activities  March 14th and 15th, including Sunday morning services, the Membership Class and Senior High programming. Additional DETAILS
  • Springfield First United Methodist Church:  Building closed through Sunday, March 15. Services will be streamed Live from our Facebook page at 9:00am and 10:30am on Sunday, March 15. Check our website and Facebook page for updates.
