It was the catch of his life for a former college football player.
Phillip Blanks, who is also an ex-marine, said he was up early to go workout with a friend when he heard screaming and ran outside to see an apartment on fire. Phillip said he jumped in without hesitation to catch a 3-year-old boy from the apartment’s balcony.
Sadly, the mother of the boy, who also had an 8-year-old daughter survive the fire, did not make it out alive.
