Man charged in hit and run of child on bike

A 62-year-old Springfield man was arrested for leaving the scene of an injury accident where a 7-year-old boy on a bicycle was struck in the 2800 block of Hilltop Road Friday morning, police said Monday.Bernard Fokum-Dinga, of the 3700 block of Carney Boulevard, admitted to being the driver that struck the boy, according to a statement from Springfield Police.The boy suffered numerous cuts and scrapes and was treated and released at HSHS St. John’s Hospital.
