Sangamon County reports 40th COVID-19 death, back on state warning list

The death of another resident at a long-term care facility in Auburn has brought the number of people who have died of COVID-19 in Sangamon County to 40.A woman in her 80s who tested positive for the virus on August 15 is the fourth resident of Auburn Rehabilitation and Health Care Center to succumb to it, Sangamon County public health officials confirmed Friday.The outbreak has spread to 28 residents and six staff members.
