Alice In Chains singer-guitarist Jerry Cantrell has unveiled plans for his upcoming summer U.S. headlining tour in support of his latest solo album, I Want Blood. The 20-date tour will feature Filter as the supporting act for the entire run, which kicks off on August 16 in San Diego and concludes on September 14 in Kansas City, making stops in cities like Dallas, Orlando, Cleveland, Detroit, and Minneapolis along the way. Pre-sales began on Tuesday (May 20), with general on-sale starting on May 23. These new dates follow Cantrell’s UK/European tour, which starts on May 31 in Padua, Italy, and wraps up on June 28th in Oslo, Norway. The announcement of Cantrell’s tour comes after Alice in Chains had to cancel a spring jaunt due to drummer Sean Kinney‘s undisclosed medical emergency, with Kinney recently assuring fans of his recovery. “I’m going to be fine and I’m going to live,” Kinney shared on AIC’s Instagram account.
