On Friday, October 3rd, from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m., AM Springfield hosted a heartwarming radio-thon live from Brahler Tire & Auto Center on 97.7 FM/970 AM WMAY, all in support of the St. Martin De Porres Center. The event invited listeners to contribute by driving up or calling in with their donations—and thanks to a generous anonymous donor, every dollar given was matched with an additional $2, tripling the impact.

Since its debut in 1996, AM Springfield has been a steadfast supporter of St. Martin De Porres, a vital organization that provides food and clothing to those in need, operating solely on donations. This year’s radio-thon, hosted by Sam Madonia and Greg Halbleib, was a resounding success, raising over $47,000 to help local families during the upcoming holiday season.

“St. Martin de Porres Center is one of our favorite causes because it helps with a large need in our city. Many residents get the food they need as well as clothing and other items through the work of the center and its volunteer-only staff.”
Sam Madonia, Host of AM Springfield

The outpouring of generosity from the Springfield community highlights the power of local media and grassroots giving. With these funds, St. Martin De Porres will be able to continue its mission of compassion and service—ensuring that no one in our community goes without.
