District 186 has released the results of a community wide survey to help aid in the hiring of a new superintendent.
More than 1500 people took part in the survey including, parents, school faculty, administrators, community members, and even students.
Among the open comments as far the new superintendent goes the belief is they should be fiscally responsible and know how to manage the budget, provide support for teachers and staff, and ensure safety.
The next step is the Illinois Association of School Boards hosting 18 different focus group sessions on October 22 and 23. Officials estimate that a new superintendent will be appointed by January 2026.
