Sangamon County Sheriff’ Office officials have given an update on their ongoing triple homicide investigation. Authorities obtained a search warrant for the residence where the deceased were located in the 3000 block of Hoover Avenue. The search of the residence led to the ability to obtain a second search warrant for a nearby apartment complex.
Authorities were also able to identify a red SUV seen in the area at the time of the incident. That SUV is being held pending further investigation.
The Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon has released the names of the deceased as well. They are Mhynesha Day, 22, of Springfield, Devione Brady, 21, of Springfield, and Cash Russell, 9, of Springfield.
