The cast of “The Princess Bride” reunited on Zoom Sunday for a script reading to benefit the Wisconsin Democratic Party.
And director ROB REINER said, quote, “Everyone who was in the cast who’s not dead is here.” But he LIED. FRED SAVAGE was NOT there. He was replaced by FINN WOLFHARD from “Stranger Things”.
So people started speculating that maybe Fred passed on it for POLITICAL reasons. One person Tweeted, quote, “Lol the entire internet playing ‘Fred Savage: Dead or Republican?’ right now.”
Another said, quote, “So is Fred Savage dead, or just dead to Rob Reiner?”
To be fair, it doesn’t seem like anyone knows what Fred’s politics are. And it turns out he had a good reason to skip the reunion. He was celebrating his brother Ben’s 40th birthday.
In an Instagram post he said, quote, “While I’m always proud to be part of the Princess Bride family, sometimes real life family comes first.”
