Demolition continues at the former Pillsbury Mills site on Springfield’s north end with today’s expected removal of the last of the silver coating on the headhouse.
Chris Richmond of Moving Pillsbury Forward said the “smiley face” on top of the 180-foot-tall Turbo Building is expected to come down today.
Richmond said environmental cleanup of structures on the site is expected to be completed this week.
