The Rochester school board has named a leader of another Sangamon County district as its next superintendent.
Molly Edmonds will begin duties as Rochester superintendent on July 1st, 2026.
Edmonds is currently superintendent of Pawnee schools. She has been high school principal at North Mac and the Capital Area Career Center, and Director of Student Care for the Illinois State Board of Education.
Edmonds has also served as the Deputy Director of Education for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and as an elementary school principal in Washington, Illinois.
She is a native of the Pittsfield area.
