The Salvation Army of Springfield is launching its annual Red Kettle campaign this weekend.
The familiar holiday charity campaign accompanied by ringing bells marks 139 years in Springfield in 2025. The Give With Joy Red Kettle Campaign’s formal launch is Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm at White Oaks Mall.
This year’s goal is $428,000 by December 31. Funds raised support the Salvation Army’s year-round services to help families overcome hardship including finding housing stability.
Volunteers to staff a Red Kettle may sign up at RegisterToRing.com. Donations are also accepted at saspringfield.org, which also includes information on Virtual Red Kettles and the Angel Tree children’s gift program.
