Madigan Disbarred by Illinois Supreme Court

Mike Madigan, 60 years after becoming a lawyer, has been disbarred.

The disbarment stems from Madigan’s convictions on federal corruption charges — including bribery — earlier this year.

Madigan actually had filed paperwork 2 months before he reported to prison to have his name stricken from the roll of attorneys admitted to the state bar.

The former speaker has already served more than a month in a West Virginia federal prison — with 89 more to go on his term.
