Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul has charged a Springfield, Illinois man for allegedly creating and possessing child sexual abuse material.
The Attorney General’s office charged Brandon Heimsness, 39, in Sangamon County Circuit Court with 11 Class X felony counts of creating child pornography, each punishable by up to 30 years in prison, and three Class 2 felony counts of possessing child pornography, each punishable by up to seven years in prison.
Heimsness is currently detained at the Sangamon County Jail, and his next court date is scheduled for Jan. 12, 2026.
Raoul’s office will co-prosecute this case with the Sangamon County State’s Attorney’s office
