Hunters harvested more that 51,000 deer in the first weekend of Illinois Firearm deer season.
Comparatively, hunters took 54,661 and 53,348 deer during the first firearm weekends in 2024 and 2023.
Sangamon County accounted for 356 of the total. Randolph County registered the most with 1363.
