A member of the state’s Executive Ethics Commission and former Republican legislative spokeswoman was charged last month with driving under the influence.

Springfield Police cited 67-year-old Patricia Schuh  after a collision on November 1st on Old Jacksonville Road.

Her first court appearance is scheduled for Thursday.

Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul appointed Schuh to the Executive Ethics Commission.

Raoul said in a statement to the State Journal-Register that “a single mistake in an individual’s long term of service…does not define who they are,” and he expressed confidence in her ability to continue to serve on the commission.
