The EMS workers charged with first -degree murder in the death of Earl Moore Jr. will be granted separate trials.
The judge made the decision on Tuesday.
Attorneys for Peter Cadigan and Peggy Finley argued that having a joint trial could lead to finger pointing, saying their respective client shouldn’t be blamed for the other’s actions.
The prosecution will now have 14 days to decide who will be tried first in May.
