You may start seeing more Springfield Police cars monitoring traffic as Tuesday night the Springfield City Council voted to approve an IDOT grant for traffic enforcement, with the $56,000 covering officers’ overtime.
The Council also approved nearly $3 million covering an Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority grant. That money will go towards SPD’s co-responder program.
