The Springfield City Council received an overall positive report on the status of city funding during Tuesday night’s session.
City revenues for Fiscal Year 2026 have so far remained just above what was originally anticipated, and monthly expenses have generally remained below what was assumed in the budget.
The city’s corporate fund balance is now expected to end the fiscal year above the starting point in March.
The city’s pension shortfall is expected to continue to grow dramatically by fiscal year 2041 at its current pace.
