Sentencing for former Sangamon County Sheriff’s Deputy Sean Grayson is scheduled for this morning in Springfield.
A Peoria County jury in October convicted Grayson of second-degree murder for the fatal shooting of Sonya Massey in her Springfield home as he answered a burglary call in July 2024.
Grayson could receive from four to 20 years in prison, which could be reduced by half depending on good behavior.
