A federal grant will help 17 local veterans become truck drivers.
Congresswoman Nikki Budzinski announced the $76,000 grant on Monday at Lincoln Land Community College.
The grant will cover the cost for 17 people to earn their commercial driver’s license. That cost is normally $4,500 per person.
