Militia Muster at Lincoln’s New Salem
Experience 1830’s daily life with a New Salem Militia muster.  Volunteers will be conducting militia drills, officer elections, and firing demonstrations throughout the day on Saturday.  Sunday the militia will take part in an 1830’s church service in the historic village.

2026 Lincoln Pilgrimage
Join Boy Scouts from throughout Illinois and all around the country in one of the largest annual scouting events in the U.S.  Scouts will embark upon the Lincoln Trail.  It begins at New Salem and ends at Stuart Park on Springfield’s north side.  Scouts will be hiking all day, and you are welcome to join them any time.

Star Party at Cawley Meadow
Saturday at 8:30pm at Lincoln Memorial Garden. In partnership with UIS and Springfield Astronomical Society, the Garden will be hosting a Star Party.  Celebrate Astronomy Day with telescopes on the Cawley Meadow.  Free event.

Dia De Los Ninos – Day of the Kid
Sunday 1pm – 4pm at the Illinois State Museum.  This day is commemorated in Mexico and honors being a kid and the role kids play in our community.  Games, art, entertainment, community groups, and more.  Free to attend and all are welcome.
