State Representative Mike Coffey says legislation to build a downtown Springfield hotel and expand the Bank of Springfield Center can pass this summer.
The Springfield Republican told WMAY’s Patrick Pfingsten on PM Springfield that after the measure passed the Senate and headed to the House, it apparently became collateral damage in the failed stadium authority centered around a proposed new stadium for the Chicago Bears.
Coffey said he believed there was enough support in the House to pass the Springfield measure, and it can still pass this year.
