A bicyclist is hospitalized and in intensive care after an early Tuesday morning hit and run.
Authorities responded to Starnes Overhead, in the 1800 block of North Dirksen Parkway, for a traffic crash involving an injured bicyclist around 4:30am. When they arrived on the scene, they found a white male in his 60’s unconscious with difficulty breathing. Officers then rendered aid to the injured subject until Fire and EMS arrived. The man remains in intensive care.
The vehicle that hit the bicyclist was a white SUV travelling southbound that fled the area after hitting the bicyclist. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact either Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division or Crimestoppers.
