An arson suspect was arrested outside a gas station last Friday.
54-year-old Arthur Lappin was arrested outside the Jiffi Stop at 1801 Wabash Ave late Friday night. Lappin had previously been banned from the store.
When Springfield Police arrived they found that Lappin had an active Sangamon County warrant related to a residential arson case. Lappin was arrested on charges of residential arson over $150 and criminal trespass to property
