A Springfield youth again faces first-degree murder charges for fatally stabbing another youth outside of Lanphier High School in 2021.
Kamyjah Bias was 15 when she was charged with stabbing Pierre Scott Jr. The Fourth District Appellate Court overturned her first-degree murder conviction in November 2024 for failing to properly transfer the case from juvenile to adult court.
New first-degree murder charges were filed against Bias in May of this year. The case is on Monday’s trial call in Sangamon County. Bias is now 20 years old. She is in the Sangamon County Jail.
