A call for a welfare check on an animal led to a woman being arrested and charged with animal cruelty.
43-year-old Laurie Fuchs was arrested on Friday after a dog in her residence in Chatham was found severely malnourished and neglected.
Chatham police found the dog in the home in the 2000 block of Covered Bridge Road and transported it to a local veterinarian. The dog died at the veterinarian’s office shortly after its weight was taken.
Fuchs is facing charges of aggravated animal cruelty.
