A Springfield man is facing felony charges for fleeing the scene after he hit a pedestrian with his vehicle.
Rickey L. Hawthorne, 43 was driving his 2012 Chevy Impala around 2 AM on July 14th when he hit a pedestrian on the 1500 block of East Clear Lake Avenue.
According to reports Hawthorne briefly got out of the car to check on the victim before getting back into the car and driving away. Springfield Police used Flock Camera Technology to track Hawthorne down.
The victim was taken to a local hospital.
Hawthorne is charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury crash and aggravated reckless driving resulting in great bodily harm.
