The Legislative Inspector General report into the conduct of now resigned State Representative Harry Benton has been released to the public.
In it the LIG says that after an extensive investigation they concluded that in both 2025 and 2026 that Rep. Benton engaged in inappropriate conduct that rose to the level of sexual harassment in violation of state law.
The report also noted that Rep. Benton took the sexual harassment training at least 3 times during his short term.
The LIG in the end did not recommend disciplinary proceedings against Rep. Benton due to the fact proceeding in the House would be lengthy and require a Special Session but did recommend various other punishments.
