Applications for permanent vote-by-mail status are on their way to Sangamon County voters. County Clerk Don Gray said the law requires his office to send the applications.
Gray said voters can decide whether to receive ballots for all elections, including partisan primaries, or only general and consolidated elections that do not require party designations.
The postcard application is optional.
Voters may also apply for a mail-in ballot for the November election without being placed on the permanent vote-by-mail list. The application is also available online at countyclerk.sangamonil.gov.
