Back to school is upon us and with it District 186 has unveiled the AI guidelines for students they will be adopting.
The guidelines include a three-strike rule for elementary students.
Students who use AI to cheat on the first offense can redo the assignment for full credit. For the second offense, students can redo it for one grade lower. Finally, for the third offense, they will not receive credit for the assignment.
The District also stressed that they encourage students to use AI as a tool to push forward thinking and that teachers must also communicate clear AI guidelines to students.
