First Financial Corporation, the holding company for First Financial Bank, N.A., and First Illinois Corporation, the holding company for Hickory Point Bank and Trust, jointly announced today that the two companies will be merging.
Hickory Point Bank is a community bank that operates 8 branches in the central Illinois communities of Decatur, Springfield and Champaign.
The transaction has been unanimously approved by each company’s board of directors 00and is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026.
