The Springfield City Council voted Sept. 1 to withdraw the ordinance for a $1.1 million, three-year contract for the ShotSpotter technology.
The reason for the postponement on the decision stemmed from Mayor Misty Buscher wanting to pursue tweaks to the agreement and Ward 2 Alderman Shawn Gregory’s plan to introduce an amendment to the ordinance.
According to Mayor Misty Buscher a revised version of the ordinance will be introduced to the council in a few weeks.
