According to the Springfield Police Department’s transparency page a lieutenant with the department recently was arrested for DUI by the Illinois State Police.
The page states that the department was made aware on October 23rd that Lt. Charles Peters had been arrested.
Peters is currently on pre-approved leave. Once he returns, the department says he will be placed on administrative leave as they conduct an internal investigation.
