Garth Brooks returns to Cheyenne Frontier Days tonight (Friday, July 23rd) to play the event's 125th anniversary. The 10-day event officially kicks off today, and it's dedicated to the late Chris LeDoux, who was a close friend of Garth's.

He last played Cheyenne Frontier Days on its 100th anniversary in 1996. Garth recalls: (I) was so fired up. Came off, hugged everybody, and I said, ‘If I’m alive 25 years from now, I’ll play the 125th,’ laughing, knowing it would never happen. And now here it comes. Playing the 125th anniversary of Cheyenne Frontier Days with Ned LeDoux, and they’re going to honor his father, Chris LeDoux, by unveiling the Chris LeDoux statue right there on the grounds of Cheyenne Frontier Days.”

Garth will participate in the unveiling of a bronze statue of Chris to honor his ties to the rodeo and music worlds and his place in Frontier Days' history where he rode bucking horses and entertained crowds from the concert stage.

Garth’s concert with Chris’ son Ned as a special guest is a brief detour from his Stadium Tour which resumes next weekend in Nashville.
