Ariana Grande says she was terrified when she first stepped away from Nickelodeon to launch her solo career.
One of her hardest decisions was to dye her signature red hair to brown to change her image. She didn’t want people to still see her as a character on TV.
She says the new hair color and thigh-high-boots that she added to her wardrobe made for a huge turning point. She finally got to be who she wanted to be.
She said, “That was a really big moment for me, putting out my first single on my first album and taking that risk.”
Grande is now giving advice to others for their own careers, as she is now coaching on NBC’s The Voice.
TL;DR:
- Ariana Grande says she was terrified when she first stepped away from Nickelodeon.
- She didn’t want people to still see her as a character on TV.
- A new hair color and thigh-high-boots were a huge turning point for her and she got to be herself.
