Ed Sheeran has tested positive for COVID-19 just days ahead of the release of his upcoming album =.

Ed shared the news on his Instagram page Sunday (October 24th) that he'll be self-isolating and will continue to do press and performances for the project from home.

He wrote, “Hey guys. Quick note to tell you that I’ve sadly tested positive for Covid, so I’m now self-isolating and following government guidelines. It means that I’m now unable to plough ahead with any in person commitments for now, so I’ll be doing as many of my planned interviews/performances I can from my house. Apologies to anyone I’ve let down. Be safe everyone.”

Ed's forth album, =, is slated to be released on Friday (October 29th).

About a week after the project arrives, Ed Sheeran is scheduled to appear on Saturday Night Live.

He's also supposed to begin his role as a mentor on The Voice today (October 25th), alongside coaches Kelly Clarkson, Ariana Grande, John Legend and Blake Shelton.
