With schools closed because of the coronavirus threat, teachers in the Westville Unit 2 School District took to the streets Wednesday to show support for their students. The teachers and support personnel paraded through the community waiving at students from their vehicles and yelling words of encouragement….

Although the parade was designed to show the teachers’ support for the students, they quickly learned the students miss them, too. Some students and parents held signs along the parade route – some with messages telling the teachers to stay safe.

Later this month the teachers plan to parade through rural areas of their school district.
