Bicyclist struck by car in Springfield

A 26-year-old woman sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle while riding her bicycle Friday afternoon.The accident occurred at 3:28 p.m. near Madison and Rutledge streets, according to Springfield police.The woman was pinned underneath the vehicle and had to be extricated by Springfield firefighters.She was taken to a local hospital in serious condition, which was later upgraded to non-life-threatening.
