COVID-19 confirmed in Sangamon County woman’s death

A woman in her 80s who had tested positive for COVID-19 on Aug. 31 became the 46th Sangamon County resident with the disease to die, health officials said Tuesday.The woman was being treated at HSHS St. John’s Hospital, said county spokesman Jeff Wilhite.The county has now had 2,455 cases of the virus, and as of Tuesday, 1,991 people had recovered and 14 were hospitalized.The county health department reported 23 new cases Tuesday, including three teens, […]
