Beyonce Named Honorary Mayor Of Santa Clara For Tour Stop

The Santa Clara City Council voted on Tuesday night to name Beyonce its honorary mayor for a day, and give her a key to the city, in advance of her Renaissance Tour stop tonight. The proclamation noted how Beyonce “has had a tremendous cultural impact as one of the most influential pop culture figures” and mentioned her many awards and charitable works. “The city of Santa Clara is excited about Beyoncé’s upcoming visit to the world-renowned Levi’s Stadium,” Santa Clara rep Michelle Templeton said. “Her concerts will certainly bring a great deal of energy and excitement.” Santa Clara previously paid tribute to Taylor Swift when she brought her Eras Tour to the city on July 28th and 29th. The city council also made her honorary mayor and renamed the city “Swiftie Clara” for the two days.
