Britney Spears Blasts Police Welfare Check Over Knife Dance

Britney Spears posted an Instagram video of herself dancing with knives last week, sparking a welfare check from the LAPD. In new videos posted over the weekend, the pop star again danced with knives, and assured fans that there's no need to worry about her. “I know I spooked everyone with the last post, but these are fake knives that my team rented from Hand Prop shop in LA,” Spears wrote. “No one needs to worry or call the police.” She also explained what inspired the seemingly dangerous stunt, saying she's “trying to imitate one of my favorite performers Shakira.” (The Columbian star recently danced with knives at the VMAs.) Spears also mocked the idea that she needed police intervention. “Is it a joke in the news again with welfare checks???” she wrote, adding: “It’s about power for cops.”
