Fat Joe Receives Honorary Doctorate From Lehman College In The Bronx

Fat Joe was awarded an honorary doctorate from Lehman College in his hometown of the Bronx on Thursday, May 30. The Grammy-nominated rapper and mogul was also the special guest of the college at their 56th annual commencement ceremony, where Joe also gave an address to the graduates after he received his honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree. “You may be the first generation, but now is the time to stop the vicious cycle of poverty in your family,” Joe said in his speech. “Now is the time. You’re just beginning your lives… Some of you been around, but I’m telling you success never stops. There is no age limit to being successful.” Lehman College posted an Instagram reel announcing Joe’s honorary doctorate, saying it was awarded, “in recognition of his ongoing commitment to uplifting the Bronx community and his profound impact on hip-hop culture.” (Complex)
