CBS announced on Thursday (November 20) that country music star Mickey Guyton will return to host as well as perform during the National Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony that will be broadcast on the network on December 20 at 8 p.m. ET. Guyton will be joined by fellow performers Trisha Yearwood, James Taylor, the War and Treaty, Trombone Shorty, Adam Blackstone, Muni Long, and Stephen Sanchez, who will all deliver musical performances of holiday classics. Airmen of Note, a musical ensemble of the U.S. Air Force Band, will also perform. The National Christmas Tree Lighting will be held and filmed on December 6 on the Ellipse at The White House and President’s Park in Washington, D.C., in hopes of inspiring “people everywhere to pause to enjoy cherished traditions and memories made with family and friends in national parks during the holiday season.” (UPI)
