It may have taken him awhile, but Bob Dylan is finally embracing social media. The 83-year-old music legend has sent out some endearing but peculiar tweets on X in recent weeks, praising a random restaurant in New Orleans while also belatedly mourning the death of Bob Newhart. After Dylan raved on X about seeing Nick Cave in Paris recently, one of the backup dancers for Dylan’s memorable performance of “Lovesick” at the 1998 Grammys responded to him, saying she had “my joy taken away” after being told by her boss “NOT to make eye contact” with Dylan at the event. Dylan candidly replied to her and dispelled a longstanding rumor about the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer in the process. “Saw your reply. Just want you to know I’ve never told anybody not to make eye contact with me,” Dylan wrote. “That is just ridiculous. And the next time you see me please look straight into my eyes.” (Rolling Stone)
